چکیده
Lying is typically considered as a morally salient phenomenon in existing research. In this article we seek to expand the understanding of lying and deception socially situated phenomena. We draw on qualitative interview data from larger project everyday experiences living with dementia examine how carers people describe, explain justify care practices that involve use untruth some way. find frequently refer problem their temporal landscapes. Questions about truthfulness occur in many contexts—when parents ask their children if they are using recreational drugs, when an employer ask applicants about the reasons they left their last job, when international leaders consider each others’ threats or promises, when voters evaluate candidates’ promises, when physicians consider a patient’s complaint, when at the start of a romantic encoun...
متن کاملBeyond mean - field description of the low - lying spectrum of
Starting from constrained Skyrme-mean-field calculations, the low-energy excita-tion spectrum of 16 O is calculated by configuration mixing of particle-number and angular-momentum projected mean-field states in the framework of the Generator Coordinate Method. Without any adjustable parameters, this approach gives a very good description of those states and their transition moments that can be ...
متن کاملElements Affecting Children’s Moral Judgment of Lying: A Review
This paper synthesized recent empirical literature on the elements affecting children's moral judgment of lying. Overall, 25 published empirical studies investigated the effects of 14 salient elements on the way children made moral judgments about others' lying behavior. These 14 elements were found related to one of four broad categories, including the lie itself, the lie-teller, the target, a...
متن کاملBeyond mean-field low-lying excitations of dipolar Bose gases
We theoretically investigate various beyond mean-field effects on Bose gases at zero temperature featuring the anisotropic and long-range dipole-dipole interaction in addition to the isotropic and short-range contact interaction. Within the realm of the Bogoliubov–de Gennes theory, we consider static properties and low-lying excitations of both homogeneous and harmonically trapped dipolar boson...
